Jon Gosselin cites cruelty in custody case

On Behalf of | May 28, 2015 | Child Custody |

Jon Gosselin used to star on a TV show called “Jon and Kate Plus 8.” The show followed the lives of him and his wife after they had sextuplets. The couple has since split up, though, and the man is now trying to get full custody of one of his daughters.

According to reports, the reason he is seeking custody — and why he already went ahead and took custody on an emergency basis — is that the girl’s mother is being cruel. Apparently, his 11-year-old daughter even claimed things were so bad that she did not want to return to her home, with her mother.

Other things have seemed a bit off over the years, starting with the show’s being changed to simply “Kate Plus 8” after Jon and Kate divorced. People have always been critical of the way that the children are being raised before a TV audience, especially since they have no choice in the matter.

The mother and some of her daughters even went on the “Today” show for an interview, and the idea was that it would help to generate support for Kate since people would see that her daughters were fine with everything. However, for whatever reason, they instead came across as nervous and silent.

Of course, none of this is evidence that their home life isn’t good, but it all provides supporting details that paint an interesting picture when they are fit in with the most recent claims being made by Jon.

While most child custody cases aren’t going to be as complex or public as they are for celebrities, it’s still important to know what legal steps must be taken in Pennsylvania.
